It is hard to believe, but I have been here twelve months now as pastor of CBC. This
was definitely one of the fastest years of my life! In October we were finally able to
make it really “official” by selling our home in Louisville and moving here to Grayson
County.
We at CBC have seen the Lord’s love to us, guiding us through difficult times of
losing beloved members to cancer. We have seen His blessings upon us, adding to our
number with professions of faith and transfers of membership. We have seen His
grace upon us, teaching us more of His will and ways during Sunday morning worship
and Sunday evening studies in theology.
But perhaps the greatest thing is that we have seen our Lord’s mercies upon us,
helping us to “maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3). It
continues to be a real joy to gather every chance we get, standing together in the Spirit
of Christ with each other and against the schemes of the devil, who would try to
destroy us.
We have also seen beginning implementation of H3F into the inner workings of CBC,
as we do everything we can to remain Christ-centered and Cross-focused in our
understanding of, submitting to, living out, and taking the Gospel- loving the Truth,
loving the Savior, loving the Church, and loving the Lost.
I look forward with great anticipation to this next year of serving the Lord together
here at CBC. Who knows what He has in store for us? I’m praying it’s more bucket
loads of His love, blessings, grace, and mercies!
Let’s see ... for me it’s one year down as pastor of CBC ... hmmm ... thirty to go?
To the Praise of His Glory,
Pastor Chip
